Mora Eldris: Review and Mods

I have often looked at the various neck knives out there and wondered if they would be useful or just a little too gimmicky.  So when Mora announced that they were going to be introducing a neck knife to their line I was excited to see what theirs would be like. Once it was available in Canada I did my best to get my hands on one and have been testing and using it since. The knife if a nice little knife. It is not going to replace an ax or a machete but the handle does fill out the hand and the short blade give you lots of control for carving and other fine tasks. Wearing it around the neck you don’t notice it too much. It does well with small wood and food tasks and general utility tasks. The knife did fail me once when trying to use the tip to drill through a hardwood the very tip of it broke off. Initially the edge seemed to keep rolling over  but after lots of stropping it seems to hold and edge well now. The grid on the knife is a bit more fancy then a
